1. Different electricity consumption
Literally, we can see that the DC charging pile uses DC power and the AC charging pile uses AC power, which leads to the difference in charging speed between the two charging piles. The charging speed of DC charging pile is fast, while that of AC charging pile is generally slow. Therefore, the general fast charging pile is DC charging pile.
2. Different appearance
Generally speaking, the DC pile is relatively large (because there are a certain number of AC-DC power modules inside, the higher the power, the more modules, and the larger the pile), while the AC pile is relatively small.
Secondly, the gun head is different. For the charging gun of DC pile, the gun head is 9 holes. In addition to the PE grounding wire, there are DC+and DC - DC power supply positive and negative poles, CC1 and CC2 charging confirmation, etc. For the charging gun of AC pile, the gun head is 7-hole, generally including L and N AC power lines, PE ground wire, CC charging connection confirmation, etc.
3. Different charging materials
DC charging pile is used to directly charge the power battery of electric vehicles. The AC charging pile only provides power output and has no charging function. It needs to connect the on-board charger to charge the electric vehicle, which is equivalent to just acting as a control power supply.
4. Different charging power
The DC charging pile adopts three-phase four wire power supply, which can provide sufficient power. The output voltage and current can be adjusted in a wide range, which can meet the requirements of fast charging. The power is mainly 40kW and 60kW, and even higher.
The AC charging pile is a power supply device that provides AC power for the electric vehicle on-board charger (i.e. the charger fixed on the electric vehicle). The power is mainly 3.5kW and 7kW.
5. Different installations
The AC pile can be installed anywhere. Now more and more people like to install one privately, which is convenient for charging. The DC charging pile is generally installed by the operating enterprise due to its volume, price and other reasons.
